Description

This brick building was built in 1800, probably by General Knox, and was conveyed to Benjamin Hastings in 1806, who was already living in the dwelling with his wife, Jerusha. The Hastings kept a tavern here until Benjamin was killed in Sacketts Harbor in the War of 1812, after which, Jerusha remained until her death in 1839.
